Affus Woman Welfare Association (AWWA) with the support of Islamic Relief on Wednesday 23-01-2008 Inaugurated two Cutting, tailoring & Machine embroidery training centers to train 120 widows and marginalized poor women for self employment. on this occasion AWWA Organized meeting at awwa office, 61,chetana colony, Gadag road, Hubli. In this meeting chief guest. Jabbar khan Honnalli, M L A, Ex Minister, Hubli city said that voluntary organizations must come forward to help poor and needy people. In Muslim minorities where women are not allowed to come out of their respective houses, awwa had taken up the task to bring these women out and give them employment opportunities to earn the extra buck for the maintenance of their families. He was happy that Islamic relief had come forward to help poor and needy people of hubli city. He also promised to help the beneficiaries.
mr. Umesh Kusugal, Project Director, D R D A, Zilla Panchayat, Dharwad., speaking on the occasion, he said that women must be self reliant for the healthy growth of the family, he assure that what ever help D R D A could do for these urban and rural women. Sr. Doctor Mr. prashant hulkonda addressing the meeting they are many employment opportunities for women. He urged all the women to come forward and learn the professional trades that are been thought by awwa with the support of Islamic Relief.
Mr. Danish Aziz,Project Manager, Islamic Relief speaking the occasion he said that Islamic relief working the poor and needy world wide and will not differentiate between any caste and creed. He also encourage all the women to take full advantage of the two tailoring center that have been setup.
Mrs farida khan,president of AWWA told that our organization working for women and child development of the society. We working with poor and needy people our organization counducting vocational taining to the poor and needy. with the help of Islamic Relief-Offer India we are distributing Ramadan food percels to the poorest families and to specific vulnerable groups of people such as the sick, the disabledpeople from the hubli city. Each training centre consist of 16 Chinese tailoring and embroidery machines,
in all 32 machines have been installed at the awwa centers
